Worcester State Athletics Inducts 46 Lancers Earn into Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society
WORCESTER, Mass. – A total of 46 Worcester State University student-athletes were inducted into the 2023 class of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, the athletics department announced last Monday. Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes student-athletes who are juniors or seniors in academic standing and maintain at least a 3.4 GPA. Inductees were honored at the 2022-23 Athletics Awards Ceremony on the campus of Worcester State University on May12, 2023. Chi Alpha Sigma is the “academic fraternity that specifically recognizes four-year collegiate student-athletes for their athletic and academic successes.” The 2023 Lancer inductees represented all of the University’s varsity athletic programs and was the University's biggest class to date. "It is no surprise this is our biggest induction class. Our student-athletes have dedicated their time to making sure they are fulfilling the full responsibility of the title, student-athlete. We are so proud of all they have accomplished on and off the field," said Kelly Downs, Coordinator of Student-Athlete Services.

Director of Athletics, Michael Mudd expressed his sentiments about the Worcester State student-athlete's commitment to their academics in saying, "they shine not only on the field, court, track and ice, but also in the classroom. They are true role models on our campus."
