Field Hockey Earns First-Ever LEC Regular Season Title; Lancers Secure No. 1 Seed in LEC Tournament

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University field hockey team not only earned its first-ever Little East Conference (LEC) regular season title this past weekend, but they also secured the top seed in the upcoming LEC Field Hockey Championship tournament, which will begin with the quarterfinal round October 27-28.

The Lancers will square off against eight-seeded Western Connecticut State University in the quarterfinals, and will face the winner of the match featuring fourth-seeded Westfield State University and fifth-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University in the semifinals. The remaining quarterfinal matchups feature second-seeded Keene State College against seventh-seeded Bridgewater State University and third-seeded Plymouth State University versus sixth-seeded UMass Dartmouth.

The winner of the LEC Championship Tournament will receive the conference's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
