Deb Draper enters her eighth year at the helm as the head coach
of the women’s lacrosse program.
This past season, Coach Draper helped guide the Lancers to a program-record for wins with a 13-6 record and a 4-2 mark for third place in the MASCAC standings. The Blue and Gold were also conference tournament semifinalists and wrapped up the year in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III New England Tournament.
Coach Draper originally assumed the position after a seven-year stint at Division II Assumption. In her first year as head coach in 2007, the Lancers posted a 12-6 record, finished the year in the NEWLA finals and earned a spot in the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament.
While at coaching at Worcester State, the Lancers have also made NEWLA semifinals and ECAC Tournament appearances in 2007 and 2008.
Coach Draper was also the head coach of the WPI club team from 1989 through 2004 and she also has coached the Boston Women’s Lacrosse team and the New England Women’s Lacrosse squad. In 1991, she was the coach of the USWLA Division II Divisional Champions.
Coach Draper is a 1980 graduate of Bridgewater State, where she was a four-year standout goalie for the women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams.
