Brian McDermott enters his third year as a women's lacrosse assistant coach.
During the 2013 campaign, Coach McDermott helped the Blue and Gold put up a new school record for wins in a season (13-6) along with reaching the semifinals in both the MASCAC Tournament and the ECAC Division III New England Tournament.
Coach McDermott grew up playing lacrosse in Huntington, Long Island and he played collegiately at Colorado State and Texas A&M when Aggie Lacrosse was still part of the SouthWest Lacrosse Association from 1977 through 1983. While at A&M, Brian received MVP and Best Attack awards and became a member of the SWLA All-Star team.
Coach McDermott then played for the San Antonio Lacrosse Club
and when he returned to Texas A&M University he became a player
coach and then coached the TAMU team. Coach
McDermott also played briefly for the New Orleans Lacrosse
Coach McDermott is an educator by profession and has B.S., M.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees in education from Texas A&M University. He has worked as a teacher and public school administrator for over 25 years and is currently working as an educational consultant.
