WORCESTER, Mass.— The Worcester State Women's lacrosse team defeated Mass Maritime in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play at John F. "They really put great effort in there tonight."

The Lancers held control of the entire first half of the game, scoring 15 goals. The Lancers took the lead early, scoring three goals in less than three minutes of play. The Buccaneers ended the Lancers' scoring rally when Buccaneer Hunt scored on a free position shot. The Lancers finished the half rattling off six more goals, giving them a 15-2 advantage over the Buccaneers at the intermission.

The Lancers maintained control in the second half of the game, scoring four in the first 20 minutes of the half. The Buccaneers were able to put another point on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal by Meghan Doherty (Malden, Mass.).
