The Lancers started out strong, as they fired off eight shots on net before Jake Karelas (Melrose, Mass.) put the Lancers on the board in the 12th minute of the first frame succeeding touches from Ryan James (Katy, Texas) and Trey Palczynski (Coral Springs, Fla.). Worcester State didn't let up on the shots until a hooking penalty was called against Worcester State, allotting the hosts a power play opportunity. The hosts took the advantage, and were able to send back-to-back shots on net, eventually sending one past Worcester State's Josh Reinstein (Woodland Hills, Calif.) for the 1-1 score. The score remained tied going into the second frame.

The second period was scoreless, as each team was held to less than 10 shots in the frame. Worcester State recorded six shots in comparison to Framingham's eight.

2:12 into the period, Worcester State's James put the Lancers ahead for the second time off a one-time pass from Nick Patullo (Doylestown, Pa.) on a 2-1 breakaway. The Lancers held the lead until Framingham State's Ryan McDonough (Dorchester, Mass.) knotted the score at 2-2 with 16 seconds remaining in regulation, sending the game into overtime.

It was a quick overtime period, as Paul sent the game-winning shot just under the arm of Reinstein, 50 seconds in, to give the Rams the 3-2 MASCAC victory over Worcester State.

  • The Rams' Paul not only recorded the game-winner, but also picked up an assist in the win.
  • Worcester State's James also logged a goal and an assist in the setback.
  • Despite the loss, Worcester State outshot the visitors 33-26.
  • Framingham State's Adam Calabrese (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned his second win in net, stopping 31-of-33 shots on goal.
  • Reinstein suffered the loss in a 23-save performance.
  • Framingham State converted on 1-of-5 (.200) power plays, while Worcester State went 0-for-5.
  • Framingham State saw 20 penalty minutes on six infractions while Worcester State had 13 on five infractions.
