WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's Kayla Quinn (Sutton, Mass.) scored a career-high four goals to help lead the Lancers to 5-0 shutout over the Framingham State Rams Tuesday evening in a Little East Conference (LEC) matchup at John Coughlin Memorial Field.

With the win, the Lancers advance to 10-4 and 7-1 in the Little East. The visiting Rams slip to 2-12, and 1-8 in conference play.

The first goal of the game came in the 20th minute. Following a series of passes, Worcester State's Hayley Sutherland (Tewksbury, Mass.) passed the ball from the right side for Quinn to strike it past Framingham State's goalkeeper, Haley Duggan (Framingham, Mass.).

The Lancers were back at it again just two minutes later when Quinn shot the ball and Jess Wilding (Somerset, Mass.) picked up the deflected ball and put it in the cage for the 2-0 gain.

Quinn picked up her second goal of the game in the 29th minute when junior midfielder, Jolane Thibault (Douglas, Mass.) made a lateral pass following a penalty corner to Quinn to place in the goal for the 3-0 lead.

Quinn completed a hat trick early in the second quarter when she dribbled past her defenders and fired the shot from 10 yards out central. She registered her fourth and final goal in the 51st minute on another pass from Wilding.

Worcester State's junior goalkeeper, Kathryn Salemme (Acton, Mass.) earned her third shutout of the season and improves to 10-4 on the season. Despite the loss for Duggan, she recorded eight saves in the 70 minutes of play and drops to 2-12.

The Rams were held to zero shots by Worcester's defense, until the last five minutes of play when Meaghan Ackerman (Littleton, Mass.) and Jillian Kokernak (Worcester, Mass.) notched two and one, respectively. The Lancers also held a 14-1 advantage in penalty corners.

The Lancers return to action on Thursday (Oct. 13) when they host Becker College in a non-conference game at 7:00 p.m. The Rams don't resume play until Saturday (Oct. 15) when they travel to Western Connecticut for a LEC matchup.
