ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Worcester State University field hockey freshman goalkeeper Jess Hopkins (Chelmsford, Mass.) added a national honor to her trophy case on Wednesday afternoon, as she was named to the Synapse Sports Division III Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll.
On Monday, Hopkins was named the Little East Conference Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week for the first time this season.
Last week, Hopkins went 3-0 in the cage with a 0.73 goals against average and a .867 save percentage for the Lancers, stopping 13 of the 15 shots on goal she faced over 192:18. She turned away eight shots on goal in a 3-1 conference won over Keene State, had one save an no goals against over 52:18 of a 5-1 non-conference win over Anna Maria and registered four stops in a 4-1 LEC victory over Eastern Connecticut.
After picking up a win on Tuesday evening, Hopkins is now 8-5 this season with a 2.17 goals against average and a .667 save percentage.
Hopkins will look to lead the Lancers to their fifth consecutive win as they host Clark University in non-conference action at Coughlin Field. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
